On 29 April 2024, we set out on our journey to travel around the world.
We started planning when we decided to quit our jobs last December. Heaven had three months notice period, so I waited two months to send the resignation letter which was a pure torture since my boss was an ineffable asshole.
Everything was a blur in April, as we were busy moving out of Hong Kong, getting official marriage certificate, applying for visas, and the most important, planning the trip. We still have some unfinished business, but forget it, let’s travel a bit first.
Our rough plan is to travel in Asia before September, then South America.
Obviously five months is not enough for everywhere in Asia, so we crossed off some countries that we had already been to before, even if I’d like to explore them again without haste.
Now the must-visit includes Mainland China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Japan.
We started with Sichuan in China. I made some advance bookings mainly to cover the accommodations for the first week of May… the frenzied Chinese May holiday, how stupid I am to travel during this period! But be patient, there are more stupid stories, like the flight from Hong Kong to Chengdu was delayed! I’ll tell you in the next chapter.
Stay tuned!
XOXO
(Rally: finally peaceful days without messy work, stupid coworkers and stubborn good-for-nothing bosses. Every Chinese needs a cure for the PTSD of their work.)
